Invincible assa
While fighting in RA, (with a very good team, especially the monk, so we would probably obtained a glad point) we fought against a team killing each members but one. The only one left was a sin using shadow form. And using it again. And again and again. Whith deadly paradox and arcane echo.
Add shadowy burden and some sin combo, and you get the perfect invincible char. It ended up with our monk leaving the group 1/2 second before this rather unconventionnal sin. Later in the run, we fought against him again, and lost. He killed the 4 of us without taking any damage.
I know it is possible to counter it with traps or spells like inferno, but its still invincible against a classic team.
The point against a team with a healer is probably to wait for the others to leave. Which, in my opinion, is not in the spirit of guild wars pvp mode.
I wish this could be nerfed asap, or we will soon be witnessing as many invincible sins in RA as oliasways in HA.
Excuse my english, i'm not a native speaker, i post here cuz i know arenanet's got an eye on guru.
Cya all
PS : kids, dont try this build at home : it's lame

I run this myself once in a while. Its hard as hell to maintain it completely, but it can be done. It takes a lot of skill to do.
But yes, it needs to be nerfed IMO. Never was a big shadow form fan

Loosing in Random Arenas is to another build shouldn't come as a big surprise. You are unable to set up your team, meaning it lacks the synergy of an organized team. Simply that fact alone means that the likely hood of another team having a better set-up than you is very high.
I could run a Frenzy-Smite in RA and win. Does that mean Frenzy-Smite is a good build? Not really.
EDIT: I just realized, a Frenzy-Smite could destroy a Shadow Form sin. Just look.

I'm nor complaining about loosing against him, (the combo is probably easier to maintain with a +20% enchant mod) neither about the fact that some arena builds are annoying (like having an interrupting mesmer on you when you play ele, which you can counter by interrupting your own skills before him then casting for real, or a ranger running with several stances).
The thing is this combo should be impossible to maintain. I know signet or touch rangers can overpower it. But it made him invincible against 80% of the teams. Its not about having a tactical advantage like a mesmer against ele, its about being truly invincible.
Plus i guess shadow form was never to be maintained 100% of the time. Fighting this sort of sins in AvA, RA, TA should soon be a pain annoying many PvP players. Just imagine the one man commando killing the guild lord in GvG. (i don't remember if npc's around the lord have some skills against it, but if this works, GvG players will be complaining soon as well)

Both my bog standard Necro build (Chilblains) and my Monk (Signet Smiter) can take down SF Assassins without too much hassle...
... so honestly, I don't care.
If you don't like it, equip some signets / touch-skills / chilblains as standard.

Youre getting farmed by Shadow Form *giggles*
Shadow Form is a pve skill, its got no place in pvp since a proper pvp team will have enchantment removal.
This is RA's meta, just change your build up to deal with it if you hate it so much.
in real pvp, theres far, a SF sin would be quite useless to the team, using up their elite slot like that.

If you have to bring skills just to counter one skill you wont encounter in every match then something is broken. This is RA but Deadly Paradox still needs a nerf/kill/remove.

Barret, do you actually read other's posts before posting yourself ? You cant remove this enchantement unless you brought some very special skills (the mesmer signet for example, or a dervish elite avatar could do it i think).
I tried the combo it's very easy to maintain shadow form (didn't try against players, in real fight). And i think there's a bug or something, when arcane echo returns to it's original form, the real shadow form's recharge animation "jumps" to a more advanced state, making it to recharge 1/4 faster or so.

Spells, but TARGETED spells ONLY.
You an use point black area skills, signets, spirits, illusionary weaponry...
Shadow Form is not suit for PvP because the downside of the HP loss is too much.

Prehaps they should make it so Deadly Paradox only affects deadly art skills, that way:
Shadow form is untouched.
Deadly Art spiker builds skill work.

What sort of a jackass would run Riposte in any kind of PvP. Trappers in RA is sub bar. 90% of the skills she has suggested would not be able to beat a shadow form sin if they had half a brain, thread, not won.
